Genuine Property Services is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Property Management team. You must have sound financial experience and be well versed in credit and collections best practices, while conducting all activities with excellent customer service. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will help manage internal controls to assure accuracy, completeness, validity, and other Accounts Receivable obligations. The successful candidate will bring a hospitality mindset, and hands on approach. Extensive experience with Yardi is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate posting of rent payments and balances in Yardi.
• Post tenant ledger adjustments as needed and approved by General Manager and Senior Accountant.
• Reconcile bank accounts and security deposits monthly.
• Process move-outs with completed move-out forms provided by property management.
• Run and distribute AR delinquency reports monthly or as requested by upper management.
• Track and report all monthly Section 8 and other subsidy payment suspensions.
• Inform electric sub- metering organization of occupancy changes.
• Assist residents with any ledger related issues.
• Provide information to landlord/tenant attorneys.
• Coordinate with community and resident managers regarding apartment repairs mandated by subsidy payers, court stipulation and monitor repair status and due dates.
• Assist with year-end audit preparation and final audit work for AR balances.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Senior Accountant and senior management.
• This position reports to the Senior Accountant/Controller.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting/finance
• 4 years of experience in an accounting role
• Proficiency working with Yardi software required
• Experience with tax credit residential properties is a plus
• Knowledge of handling HAP and Non-HAP ledgers preferred
• Proficient working knowledge of MS Excel
• Strong communication skills
