IT Specialist

This position is located in the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships (DRR), Financial Services Branch of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. The incumbent serves as the primary manager and technical overseer of contractor-performed IT and data management activities that support financial institution closing and post‑closing resolution operations. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill similar vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement. Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS-13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience applying principles and methods to identify, analyze, specify, design, and manage functional data and data infrastructure requirements related to financial institutions and emerging financial technologies; includes translating data requirements into technical requirements used for logical design or presenting alternative technologies or approaches.
