Lead Agentic AI Architect - Google Vertex AI & Gemini

Perficient currently has a career opportunity for a Lead Agentic AI Architect-Google Vertex & Gemini supporting one of our clients in the Health Insurance space. As Lead Agentic AI Architect , you will be part of Perficient's Cloud/API Practice developing best in class experiences for Perficient customers. You will provide technology direction, ensure project implementation, and utilize technology research to innovate, integrate, and manage technology solutions. You will also significantly contribute to identifying best-fit architectural solutions for one or more projects; you will collaborate with some of the best talent in the industry to create and implement innovative, high-quality solutions, participate in sales and various pursuits focused on our clients' business needs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead architect and technical authority for Generative AI solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Design and deliver scalable AI solutions leveraging Vertex AI, Gemini, Agent Builder, and Google's Agent Development Kit (ADK).
• Architect agentic AI ecosystems, including multi-agent, Agent-to-Agent (A2A), and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions grounded in enterprise data.
• Build cloud-native AI platforms using Cloud Run, containerized microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
• Design conversational AI and chatbot solutions using Dialogflow and enterprise integrations.
• Establish enterprise LLMOps practices, including CI/CD, model evaluation, versioning, testing, deployment automation, and monitoring.
• Implement AI guardrails, security controls, and governance frameworks to support HIPAA compliance, data privacy, prompt injection protection, and responsible AI practices.
• Lead AI strategy discussions, technical workshops, proofs of concept, and client-facing solution design.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable architectural solutions.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and drive innovation across client engagements.
• Mentor engineering teams and establish architecture standards, best practices, and reusable frameworks.
• Optimize AI solutions for performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Provide thought leadership and solution guidance for healthcare payer operations, including claims, membership, document processing, and workflow automation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience architecting and delivering solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
• Deep expertise with Vertex AI, Gemini, Vertex AI Agents, Agent Builder, and Google's Agent Development Kit (ADK).
• Hands-on experience designing agentic AI, multi-agent systems, RAG architectures, and enterprise GenAI solutions.
• Strong experience with Cloud Run, APIs, microservices, containerization, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience designing conversational AI solutions using Dialogflow or similar platforms.
• Proven experience establishing MLOps/LLMOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, model governance, and AI deployment frameworks.
• Experience implementing AI security, responsible AI, HIPAA-compliant architectures, and cloud security controls.
• Demonstrated ability to move AI solutions from proof of concept to enterprise-scale production.
• Experience building enterprise integrations and connectors across business systems and data platforms.
• Strong executive communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams within agile delivery environments.

Preferred

• Healthcare payer or health insurance industry experience.
• Experience with claims processing, member services, intelligent document processing, and healthcare workflow automation.
• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, n8n, PydanticAI, or similar agentic AI frameworks.
• Scrum Master, SAFe, or equivalent Agile certification.

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $92,118 to $202,730.
