Finance Associate — Fund Finance and Structured Finance

Chicago, Illinois

Our client, a BigLaw firm, seeks a Finance Associate with at least three years of substantive fund finance and/or structured finance experience to join its Chicago office.

\n

The associate will advise banks, private funds, and asset managers on sophisticated financing transactions and take responsibility for significant transaction workstreams. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with sound commercial judgment and the ability to move complex matters efficiently from structuring through closing.

\n

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Represent financial institutions, private funds, and asset managers in fund finance and structured finance transactions.
\n
• Lead significant portions of transactions, including due diligence, document preparation, negotiation, and closing.
\n
• Draft and negotiate credit agreements, security documents, and other financing documentation.
\n
• Coordinate transaction execution with clients, opposing counsel, and specialist attorneys.
\n
• Identify legal and commercial issues and develop practical solutions.
\n
• Manage multiple matters while maintaining clear communication and attention to detail.
\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• At least three years of substantive fund finance and/or structured finance experience.
\n
• Experience taking ownership of significant portions of complex financing transactions.
\n
• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
\n
• Ability to work effectively with institutional clients and multidisciplinary deal teams.
\n
• A practical, business-oriented approach to problem-solving.
\n

• Subscription credit facilities.
\n
• Net asset value (NAV) facilities.
\n
• Fund leverage facilities.
\n
• Collateralized loan obligations (CLOs).
\n
• Relevant transactional experience at a large law firm.
\n
