Compensation: $150,000 – $160,000 Base + Bonus

About the Role

\n

A rapidly growing, multi-strategy credit investment firm is seeking a VP (Senior Associate / AVP-level) to join our Fund Accounting team in Midtown Manhattan. This role supports NAV oversight, financial reporting, and fee and capital activity across a complex platform spanning structured credit, direct lending, insurance solutions, ETFs, and new product launches.

You'll join a lean, highly capable fund accounting group of 5 (including the Head Controller) at a firm entering a significant AUM growth phase. This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your technical exposure across multiple asset classes while working alongside intellectually rigorous colleagues.

What You'll Do

\n

NAV, P&L & Investor Allocations

\n

\n
• Oversee the funds' NAV finalization process, including P&L reconciliation and allocation to investors across open- and closed-end private fund structures
\n
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies with third-party fund administrators and internal teams
\n
• Approve client capital account statements generated by third-party administrators
\n

\n

\n

Fee, Capital & Expense Activity

\n

\n
• Review and reconcile the calculation and payment of management and carried interest / incentive fees in accordance with fund governing documents
\n
• Review capital calls, distribution allocations, and notifications
\n
• Prepare and review expense allocations, operating expense budgets, and vendor expense payments
\n

\n

\n

Financial Reporting & Audit

\n

\n
• Prepare quarterly unaudited financial statements and annual audited financial statements under U.S. GAAP
\n
• Coordinate with external auditors for the year-end audit process
\n

\n

\n

Performance Reporting & Forecasting

\n

\n
• Prepare monthly attribution performance reporting for senior management
\n
• Prepare and review monthly fund forecasts, NAV performance estimates, and other ad hoc analyses
\n

\n

\n

Regulatory, Investor & Cross-Functional Support

\n

\n
• Prepare inputs for annual regulatory reporting, investor letters, custom client reporting, and firm-level reporting
\n
• Liaise with Operations, Investor Relations, Management Reporting, Tax, and Legal and Compliance teams
\n
• Review fund legal documents and support related workstreams
\n

\n

\n

Process Improvement & Strategic Projects

\n

\n
• Streamline and build processes and templates to support the firm's growth
\n
• Engage in special projects and firm strategic initiatives
\n
• Assist with the creation and implementation of procedures, workflows, and controls
\n

\n

\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• 5+ years of relevant experience of Private industry fund accounting experience
\n
• Public/private mix with fund accounting exposure
\n
• Big 4 Manager or Senior Manager with alternative asset clients
\n
• Credit fund experience preferred (structured credit, direct lending, or similar)
\n
• Experience with both open- and closed-end fund structures
\n
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP as applied to investment funds
\n
• Experience overseeing or coordinating with third-party fund administrators
\n
• CPA preferred
\n
• Strong technical accounting skills with the ability to handle complex fund structures
\n
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
\n
• Collaborative mindset with a process-improvement orientation
