Capstone Visiting Professor

Job Overview Chamberlain College of Nursing is seeking Part‑Time Clinical Instructors to teach students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. The position focuses on the Capstone Final Clinical specialty, a culminating clinical practicum that explores professional nursing trends and provides experiential learning. Clinical Schedule Days: Monday‑Sunday (days and times may vary) Time: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Duration: 8‑week session Responsibilities Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service. Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments. Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students. Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students based on course objectives. Remain available for student remediation as required. Maintain current knowledge of agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations. Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with student knowledge, skill competency, and learning needs. Grade homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner. May teach didactic course content under supervision of the course coordinator. Keep the course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns. Report to the dean or assistant dean; a course coordinator will also provide direct oversight. Qualifications Master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution. Unencumbered professional nursing license. At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in an instructional role as a registered nurse. Proof of COVID‑19 vaccination may be required to teach at certain clinical partner sites. Teaching or precepting experience preferred but not required. Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Empathy, respect, and care in serving students and colleagues. Sense of responsibility and purpose to enrich colleagues, students, and the broader community. Additional Information Compensation for the Visiting Professor Position ranges from $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job‑related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught, experience and training, geographic location, licensure and certifications, market factors, departmental budgets, and responsibility.
