Responsibilities

• Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling of specimens in accordance with established procedures.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing by following quality and safety protocols.
• Build trust and confidence with patients by explaining procedures and maintaining a professional, supportive environment.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all specimen collection activities.
• Travel between multiple clinical sites or patient service centers to provide phlebotomy services as assigned.
• Adhere to all safety policies, dress codes, and confidentiality standards to promote a positive image.
• Demonstrate flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts, based on staffing needs.
• Handle multiple priorities efficiently in a high-volume environment while delivering excellent customer service.

Required Skills

• Proven phlebotomy skills with 1-3 years of experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to changing environments.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, peers, and supervisors.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for specimen labeling and documentation.
• Proficiency in data entry and keyboard skills.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel between multiple sites and work flexible hours as needed.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• Experience in a patient service center environment is highly desirable.
• Capable of handling high-volume workloads and managing multiple priorities efficiently.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call hours.
• Reliable personal transportation; mileage for travel between sites can be submitted for reimbursement.
