Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories, a nationally recognized laboratory, is searching for an experienced Immunologist to work in our Professional Scientific Services group in San Diego, CA. The person in this role will work in a cross-functional environment and assist key lab operations including culture of cell lines, immune cells and other primary cells, in vitro and ex vivo cell-based assays, and multi-color flow cytometry.

Main Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Cell isolation & culture: isolate, culture, and/or manipulate primary immune cells (e.g., T cells, B cells, and PBMCs), non-immune cells (e.g., fibroblasts, epithelial cells), and cell lines.
• Functional cell assay execution: design, execute, and troubleshoot in vitro and ex vivo cell assays to evaluate target biology and drug mechanism of action.
• Immunophenotyping: perform multi-color flow cytometry experiments to monitor immune cell identity markers, cell phenotype, and/or target expression.
• Data analysis & communication: analyze, interpret, and communicate data effectively to team members.
• Documentation: keep meticulous records of experiments performed and maintain lab notebook entries.

Required Experience and Skills

• Strong cell isolation and culture skills, including primary immune cells and cell lines.
• Experience developing and running advanced cell-based assays with primary cells to assess immune responses from human whole blood, PBMCs, and various immune cell subsets.
• Experience in multi-color flow cytometry to immunophenotype human cells (from blood, tissues, or ex-vivo cultures) to assess target expression, immune response, or cell signaling pathways.
• Proficiency in data analysis using Excel, Prism (GraphPad), and FlowJo.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills, oral and written, in a multi-disciplinary, project-driven environment.

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Understanding of the drug discovery process with industry experience.
• Understanding of immune diseases, including current research and drugs in development.
• Background in biomarker discovery and development.

Education Minimum Requirements

• MS in immunology, cell biology, or a related biomedical science with two (2) or more years of relevant industry experience; or
• BS in immunology, cell biology, or a related biomedical science with five (5) or more years of relevant industry experience.

Work Authorization

Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Position is full-time, Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of San Diego, CA are encouraged to apply.
