Senior Accountant

Most senior accountant roles are about keeping the books clean on top of systems someone else already built. This one is closer to the opposite. Our client is a fast‑growing, privately held fintech company, the kind that has roughly doubled in size three years running and is now building real financial infrastructure for the first time: first annual budgets, new processes, more automation, and an ERP upgrade on the horizon. The person in this seat won’t just close the books. They’ll help decide how things get done. Responsibilities You’ll own a mix of recurring billing and reconciliation work, support month‑end close, and handle bank and general ledger reconciliations. Beyond the routine, you’ll be trusted to research variances, determine corrective action, and recommend process and policy changes that keep problems from recurring. The role carries real discretion: you’ll decide what you can resolve on your own and what needs to be escalated. Things Worth Knowing More operational impact, less pure transaction processing Discretion to investigate, fix, and improve rather than just record A front‑row seat to a QuickBooks‑to‑ERP transition and a finance function being built out A stable, profitable, privately held company growing without the chaos Flexible hours, including early‑morning starts if that suits you Qualifications Bachelor’s in accounting, finance, or related field 4 to 6 years of accounting experience with solid GAAP understanding QuickBooks experience, including account‑level entries and reporting Comfort owning reconciliations and month‑end close Strong attention to detail and a process‑improvement mindset Compensation and benefits: $80K to $90K base, 10% annual bonus target.
