Cleaning Supervisor Residential & CommercialPay: $23-$25 Per HourHours: 30-40 GuaranteedSchedule: MondayFriday within the 8:00 AM5:00 PM range, with occasional weekendsService Area: Menomonie/Eau Claire/Chippewa Falls WI and customer locations up to approximately 40 miles awayPosition Type: Permanent, long-term positionAbout the PositionMess Minimizers is hiring an experienced, customer-focused Cleaning Supervisor to help lead our residential and commercial cleaning team as the company continues to grow.This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes pride in high-quality cleaning, enjoys helping others improve, and wants to have a meaningful role in daily operations. The Cleaning Supervisor will generally spend approximately 50% of their time cleaning alongside the team and 50% supporting employees, customers, and company operations. The balance may vary depending on staffing, training needs, customer demand, and company priorities.Responsibilities include training and supporting cleaners, inspecting completed work, helping resolve quality concerns, conducting customer walkthroughs, assisting with hiring and one-on-one meetings, covering call-outs when needed, supporting scheduling and office tasks, and helping improve company processes.This position is best suited for someone with genuine professional cleaning experience who is ready to take on greater responsibility and help build a reliable, high-performing team. The Cleaning Supervisor will remain actively involved in the work while helping set the standard for quality, professionalism, and customer service.What We OfferScaling Supervisor bonus opportunity based on yearly team goals and individual performancePaid company trainingPhone stipendCompany gas card for approved business useApproved mileage reimbursement when applicable under company policyPrimarily weekday, daytime workA permanent position with the opportunity to take on an important role in a growing local companyPrimary ResponsibilitiesCleaning and Field LeadershipLead residential and commercial cleaning jobs while actively cleaning alongside the team.Review job instructions, assign responsibilities, and keep jobs organized and on schedule.Perform standard, recurring, deep, move-in, and move-out cleaning.Complete cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning and sanitizing kitchens and bathrooms, wiping surfaces, emptying trash, and organizing designated areas.Inspect completed work and correct missed, incomplete, or below-standard areas before leaving.Help ensure employees follow customer instructions, company procedures, safety practices, and quality standards.Complete solo cleaning assignments or help cover jobs when needed.Help prepare, organize, account for, and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment.Represent Mess Minimizers professionally while working in customers homes and businesses.Employee Leadership, Training, and HiringTrain and onboard new cleaning employees.Train and coach existing employees on cleaning techniques, efficiency, safety, customer service, timekeeping, scheduling applications, and company expectations.Observe employee performance and provide clear, respectful feedback to improve quality, pace, reliability, professionalism, and follow-through.Conduct employee one-on-one meetings to discuss performance, support, training needs, goals, and concerns.Document attendance, performance, conduct, and training concerns and promptly communicate them to management.Help reinforce approved company policies and procedures. Formal disciplinary decisions remain with management.Lead by example through dependable attendance, professional behavior, respectful communication, and high-quality work.Assist with reviewing applications, conducting phone screenings and interviews, and providing practical hiring observations and recommendations.Help with new-hire paperwork, application setup, orientation, uniforms, initial training, and follow-up.Help determine whether new employees are meeting company expectations for quality, reliability, professionalism, and customer service.Customer Service and WalkthroughsBuild positive relationships with residential and commercial customers.Conduct customer walkthroughs and listen carefully to their priorities, concerns, and expectations.Document property conditions, requested services, special instructions, access information, and potential cleaning challenges.Gather accurate information for management to use when preparing or approving estimates.Assist with quality-control visits, customer follow-up, and routine service concerns.Respond professionally to customer questions or complaints and involve management when appropriate.Do not make unapproved commitments involving pricing, refunds, credits, additional services, or scheduling.Scheduling, Office, and Operational SupportHelp respond to employee call-outs, staffing changes, and unexpected scheduling problems.Identify possible job coverage, communicate approved schedule changes, and notify management when service may be affected.Review schedules for staffing concerns, travel issues, timing conflicts, or missing information.Occasionally respond to time-sensitive staffing, customer-access, or operational issues outside normal scheduled hours when necessary.Assist with customer and employee calls, messages, and routine communication.Update job notes, customer instructions, employee information, training records, and other operational records.Review time and mileage records for obvious errors and report concerns to management.Help organize applications, uniforms, supplies, equipment, training materials, and other company materials.Help create, document, implement, and improve cleaning procedures, training materials, checklists, office workflows, and approved employee policies.Identify recurring problems, inefficiencies, or unclear procedures and recommend practical improvements.Support management with employee accountability, quality control, customer concerns, and daily operational decisions.Maintain confidentiality involving customers, employees, applicants, payroll information, pricing, access information, and company operations.Promptly report and document damage, injuries, customer complaints, access problems, safety concerns, and other significant incidents.Occasionally handle customer keys, lockboxes, alarm codes, opening or closing procedures, and other access responsibilities.Complete other reasonable office and administrative duties as assigned.Required QualificationsAt least one year of paid professional residential cleaning, commercial cleaning, housekeeping, janitorial, or closely related experience.At least six months to one year of demonstrated experience leading, training, or supervising employees.Strong customer-service experience and the ability to build trust with customers, employees, applicants, and management.Clear, friendly, confident, approachable, and professional communication.Ability to give direction, provide constructive feedback, coach respectfully, and address difficult issues.Strong attention to detail and the ability to recognize and correct incomplete or below-standard work.Strong organization, judgment, prioritization, problem-solving, and follow-through.Ability to remain calm and professional during customer concerns, employee call-outs, scheduling changes, and unexpected problems.Ability to work independently without constant direction while keeping management appropriately informed.Clear written communication and accurate documentation skills.Basic computer and smartphone skills and the ability to learn scheduling, timekeeping, communication, payroll, and customer-management systems.Consistent availability MondayFriday within the 8:00 AM5:00 PM range and the ability to occasionally work weekends.Valid drivers license and reliable personal transportation.Adequate vehicle space for cleaning supplies and equipment.Willingness to travel up to approximately 40 miles around Menomonie.Willingness to occasionally transport employees, supplies, or equipment when operationally necessary.Ability to accurately record working time and approved mileage.Willingness to receive feedback and adapt as company procedures evolve.Experience with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, customer walkthroughs, quality inspections, process documentation, or policy implementation is strongly preferred.Physical and Work Environment RequirementsThis position requires the ability to perform the essential functions of professional cleaning, with or without reasonable accommodation. Work may include prolonged standing and walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, repetitive movement, and lifting or carrying normal cleaning supplies and equipment.
