Instrumentation Coordinator - Sterile Processing
Schedule: Shift: 08:00–18:30 (1st shift), Friday–Monday; occasional scheduled holidays. Additional weekend traveler expectations: 06:00–18:30 (Sat/Sun + one weekday) and 18:00–06:30 (Sat/Sun + one weeknight).
Requirements: Minimum experience: 3 years in sterile processing. Travel experience: Required. Certifications: CBSPD or CRCST (HSPA/formerly IAHCSMM). Required skills: Knowledge of sterilization processes: STERRAD and steam sterilization. Familiarity with high-level disinfection and scope reprocessing (AER, Medivator). Competence in decontamination/cleaning (manual and ultrasonic), sterile storage. Experience with case cart assembly. Instrument handling experience with robotics/DaVinci. Familiarity with tracking systems (Censitrac).
Roles & Responsibilities: Prepare, sterilize, assemble, track, and distribute surgical instruments and trays. Serve as clinical liaison between operating rooms and offsite locations. Perform instrument decontamination, sterilization, and tray assembly/standardization. Manage inventory and case carts. Distribute instruments across the healthcare enterprise.
Compliance / Notes: Orientation: 40 hours. Vaccination: Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only). Background check: Urgent fingerprinting required immediately after booking; strict deadline is Tuesday prior to start. Submission requirements: Return-to-office (RTO) required with submission; references: 2 professional references required, at least 1 must be a manager/director or formal supervisor.
