This contract opportunity runs from August 26, 2026, through June 16, 2027, and is designed for a dedicated Special Education Teacher passionate about working with pre-kindergarten through 2nd-grade students who have severe disabilities and medical needs.
In this position, you’ll be part of a highly collaborative team devoted to delivering individualized instruction that meets each child where they are. You'll have the opportunity to make a life-changing difference, providing both academic and functional support to help your students reach their fullest potential.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid DSE Severe Needs teaching license required
- Previous experience working with students with severe/profound disabilities preferred
- Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs), behavior intervention strategies, and assistive technology
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and medical staff
- Compassion, patience, and adaptability to respond to students’ unique needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to students’ abilities and medical considerations
- Deliver direct instruction in a range of subjects, as well as functional and communication skills
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and nurses to ensure comprehensive support
- Effectively manage a diverse caseload, maintaining compliance and documentation in alignment with state regulations
- Cultivate a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment for young learners
