Open Rank Clinical Practice Faculty Position, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Position Overview Organization: Pediatrics, Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Title: Open Rank Clinical Practice Faculty Position, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Position Description The Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics, at the University of Washington School of Medicine, in partnership with Seattle Children’s Hospital is seeking candidates for a full-time position at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor on the Clinical Practice Track. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UW’s Faculty Code Section 24-34. Anticipated start date is Summer/Fall 2025. In addition to clinical work, teaching, scholarship, and service are integral to all Clinical Practice positions. The initial appointment period will be three years, at a minimum, with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure. The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice $14,800 - $22,200 per month ($177,600 - $266,400 annually), Associate Professor of Clinical Practice $16,967 - $25,450 per month ($203,604 - $305,400 annually), Professor of Clinical Practice $22,134 - $33,200 per month ($265,608 - $398,400 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Please see additional benefits that may be available: Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Children’s University Medical Group practice plan. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative supplement (ADS). Duties will include providing primarily outpatient clinical care including attending ambulatory Sleep Medicine clinics including at regional sites, interpretation of polysomnography (including multiple sleep latency tests and actigraphy), performing inpatient sleep medicine consultations, research, and teaching, as well as active participation in Divisional and Departmental activities. The candidate will conduct clinical research or engage in scholarly activity in an area of Sleep Medicine dealing with chronic conditions with health equity in mind. The research focus will align with the Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at Seattle Children’s Hospital, and the candidate will interact with medical students, residents, and pulmonary fellows in training. Rank is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is a full-time appointment. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, scholarship, and service. Qualifications The successful candidate must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent), medical licensure in the state of Washington and Board Eligibility or Certification in Sleep Medicine (or foreign equivalent) and have completed a US accredited sleep medicine fellowship by the start date of employment. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H‑1B visa, graduates of foreign (non‑U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
