About the Role

The Company is in search of an Associate Vice President, Product & Regulatory Counsel for its Professional Liability business. This role is pivotal in providing practical legal and regulatory guidance across a specialized insurance portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising the professional liability underwriting business on product development and regulatory matters, supporting the launch of insurance products and policy forms, and managing rate, form, and SERFF filings, particularly in New York and other states. The role also involves close collaboration with underwriting, actuarial, legal, and senior leadership on product and regulatory initiatives, as well as liaising with state insurance regulators. Applicants for this role at The Company should have a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, with active bar membership in good standing. A minimum of 8-10 years' of insurance industry experience, particularly in professional liability or medical malpractice insurance, is required. The ideal candidate will have direct experience with New York Department of Financial Services regulatory matters, strong skills in rate, form, and SERFF filings, and a proven track record in drafting and reviewing insurance policy forms and products. The role demands the ability to translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical business guidance and offers the opportunity to help shape and build out the product and regulatory function over time.
