Security Officer

Location: Columbia, MO 65202 Position Type: Part‑Time Shift: Overnight Schedule: Thursday - Sunday | 10:00 PM - 4:00 AM (24 hours per week) Pay: $19.00 per hour Position Summary Citadel Security USA is seeking a dependable Part‑Time Unarmed Security Officer to provide overnight security services at a residential apartment community in Columbia, Missouri. This position is responsible for helping maintain a secure environment through routine patrols, controlled property access, and professional interaction with residents and authorized visitors. The ideal candidate is observant, dependable, and comfortable working independently while maintaining a visible security presence throughout the property. Key Responsibilities Conduct routine foot patrols throughout the apartment community during assigned shifts. Monitor entrances and common areas to help maintain controlled access to the property. Prevent unauthorized individuals from entering or remaining on the premises. Observe and report suspicious activity, property damage, or safety concerns. Complete detailed and accurate activity logs, incident reports, and daily documentation. Respond appropriately to security concerns and notify supervisors when necessary. Maintain a professional appearance and courteous demeanor while interacting with residents, guests, contractors, and property management. Help promote a safe and welcoming living environment through consistent security presence. Follow all site‑specific procedures and company policies. Required Qualifications Active Guard Card required. Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED preferred. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English. Ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports. Strong observational skills and sound judgment. Reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location. Ability to work overnight shifts as scheduled. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in residential, apartment, or property security preferred. Experience in performing access control and routine patrols. Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills. Ability to remain calm and professional while handling routine security situations. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to perform frequent foot patrols throughout the property. Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions as needed. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
