Adjunct Professor - Life and Physical Sciences ,EMT

Location 4200 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008 Brief Description of Duties Incumbents must teach all assigned classes and hours as determined by the semester course schedule. They will prepare and deliver curriculum using lecture, discussion, skills labs, and simulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teach assigned courses as specified in the schedule and hold office hours for students (one hour of conference time per week for each 3-credit hour course). Evaluate and select texts and instructional materials; prepare course materials and lesson plans. Collaborate with Program Coordinator to provide a syllabus that includes objectives, learning outcomes, methodology, attendance policies, readings, assignments, deadlines, and evaluation criteria. Use the institution’s learning management system to post syllabus, assignments, and other materials and to communicate with students. Deliver course content using a variety of teaching styles and provide engaging assignments that demonstrate real‑world applications. Assist in maintaining records of enrollment, attendance, assessments, and grades; submit class rosters and grade sheets by established deadlines. Provide a classroom environment conducive to learning and maintain classroom control. Minimum Job Requirements Associate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred). Certified EMT with NREMT; must be DC certified before the start of term. Prior teaching experience or evidence of teaching potential, laboratory skills in the subject area, or corporate/industry training.
