Senior Actuary (FSA) - Fixed Annuity Projections

Overview Pacific Life is seeking a Senior Actuary (FSA) to join the Enterprise Valuation Fixed Annuity Projections team. The role is hybrid with four on‑site days at one of the company’s offices in NewportBeach, CA, Omaha, NE or Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities Lead, plan, and execute actuarial projections for fixed annuities, delivering accurate analyses and reports. Prepare Actuarial Opinion & Memorandum on Asset Adequacy Testing, C3 PhaseI scenario testing, economic reporting, and other projection reports. Consolidate operating models between individual and group fixed annuity projection processes. Eliminate redundancy across shared tasks such as data aggregation, attribution analysis, memorandum, dashboard, and presentation material. Develop and implement model enhancements, perform testing and validation, and document controls following Model Risk Management guidance. Produce or review reports and analytics supporting projection exercises, streamlining reporting processes. Collaborate with stakeholders across functions, communicate findings to audiences with varying technical expertise. Maintain awareness of new product activities, regulatory changes, and support implementation. Develop tools to enhance model efficiency and analytics for inputs, computation, and outputs. Requirements FSA with 6+ years of related actuarial experience. Bachelor’s degree. Experience with asset and liability projections. Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills. Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem‑solving skills. Attention to detail and innate curiosity. Ability to translate technical concepts to non‑technical audiences. Preferred Experience Background in statutory reserving and market consistent embedded value principles. Technical proficiency in Prophet, Snowflake/SQL, Tableau or PowerBI, and automation programming (Python, VBA, R). Prior experience in actuarial valuation and/or projections for fixed deferred annuities (e.g., Fixed Indexed Annuities, Multi‑year Guaranteed Annuities) and fixed payout annuities (e.g., Single Premium Immediate Annuities, Deferred Income Annuities, Structured Settlements, Pension Risk Transfer). Base Salary Ranges (Location Specific) NewportBeach, CA: $167,670 – $204,236 Omaha, NE: $144,810 – $176,990 Charlotte, NC: $152,370 – $186,230 Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision and Well‑Being Reimbursement Account.
