Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing with daily nursing department operations.

• Supervise and support RNs, LPNs/LVNs, and CNAs.

• Assist with staffing, scheduling, assignments, and coverage.

• Monitor resident care, documentation, treatments, and medication practices.

• Conduct clinical rounds and follow up on changes in resident condition and incidents.

• Assist with care planning, quality improvement, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance.

• Provide staff education, coaching, and clinical guidance.

• Address resident and family concerns and promote effective communication.

• Participate in surveys, audits, care conferences, and interdisciplinary meetings.

• Support a safe, compassionate, and resident-centered environment.

• Assume nursing leadership responsibilities in the Director of Nursing’s absence.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in good standing in the state of practice.

• Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.

• Strong clinical assessment, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations governing skilled nursing facilities.

• Ability to effectively supervise staff, prioritize responsibilities, and respond to changing resident and facility needs.

• Commitment to providing person-centered care and maintaining high standards of clinical practice.
