Portfolio Strategist

Corporate Title: Associate Department: Global Multi-Asset Pay Range: At commencement of employment, $140,000–$170,000 per year* Role Description As a Portfolio Strategist within Nomura’s Portfolio Consulting Team and as part of Nomura’s Global Multi Asset team, you will work to deliver portfolio construction insights and analysis to our clients. By partnering with our US Wealth wholesalers, you will conduct portfolio reviews for wealth managers to help them better understand their portfolios by providing expert insights with rigorous quantitative analysis to deliver a comprehensive review tailored to each advisor’s unique needs. In This Role You Will Partner with Nomura’s internal/external wholesalers to conduct portfolio reviews for top advisory teams Incorporate macro‑economic analysis and insights on various asset classes in bespoke reports and presentations to help financial advisors better understand their client’s investments Help build Nomura’s Portfolio Consulting Team’s value‑add resources by supporting a variety of projects including investment thought leadership, market commentaries, mainstage presentations for investor conferences as well as other marketing material and collateral Skills, Experience, Qualifications & Knowledge Required 5+ years of relevant experience within Portfolio Management, Client Portfolio Management, Investment Specialist, Portfolio Consulting, Portfolio Strategy or other client‑facing investment roles for multi‑asset strategies and portfolio construction CFA or advanced degree in Business, Finance, or related field & Series 7 & 63 (preferred) Excellent public speaking skills to clearly present complex portfolio construction insights in a digestible manner to a wide variety of stakeholders (from one‑on‑one meetings to larger audiences) Exceptional skills in Morningstar Direct, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; proficiency in FactSet, Bloomberg, and/or MSCI Barra is a plus Ability to work with large data sets to concisely analyze and report insights/findings; coding language skills in R or Python are a plus Nomura Competencies Explore Insights & Vision – Identify the underlying causes of problems and define a clear vision and direction for the future. Compensation & Benefits Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, corporate and functional title and duties, job‑related knowledge and advanced degrees, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign‑on bonus, restricted stock units, discretionary awards and eligibility for commissions for applicable sales roles in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
