We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Ashburn, Virginia on a Contract basis. This role supports core accounting operations with a strong focus on invoicing, billing, reconciliations, and transaction accuracy. The ideal candidate brings solid hands-on experience across accounts payable and accounts receivable while maintaining careful attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable invoicing to support accurate and timely processing.
• Prepare and oversee billing activities, ensuring customer and vendor records remain current and complete.
• Review outgoing package documentation and assist with auditing materials before shipment, typically handling a steady daily volume.
• Record journal entries and maintain supporting documentation for routine accounting activity.
• Perform bank, cash, and credit card reconciliations to verify balances and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Monitor financial transactions for accuracy and follow up on exceptions or incomplete information.
• Support general accounting tasks and contribute to smooth month-to-month financial operations.• At least 3 years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role.
• Practical knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and billing processes.
• Experience preparing journal entries and completing account reconciliations.
• Familiarity with bank, cash, and credit card reconciliation procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage a consistent workload with accuracy.
• Comfortable working in a Contract position with flexibility in scheduling.
• Experience with Sage Intacct is helpful but not required.
