District Manager I

Job Title: District Operations Manager (Route-Based Logistics & P&L)

Role Overview
We are seeking a high-energy, strategically-minded District Operations Manager to lead daily operations for a key regional site. This is a comprehensive leadership role responsible for the safety, financial performance (P&L), and service excellence of a multi-line logistics business. You will manage a team of Route and Operations Managers, driving a culture of safety while building long-term partnerships with municipal and county agencies. The ideal candidate is a "business owner" at heart-someone who can balance complex labor relations with strict budgetary goals.

Key Responsibilities
• Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day collection and transportation operations. Establish and maintain high-performance productivity metrics and cost-management processes.
• Financial Oversight (P&L): Full responsibility for the district's profit and loss. Conduct regular budget reviews and implement programs for optimal equipment utilization and labor efficiency.
• Safety & Compliance: Execute rigorous safety protocols in alignment with OSHA and corporate standards. Lead root-cause investigations for all incidents, followed by targeted coaching and retraining.
• Talent Management: Oversee all personnel needs, including hiring, coaching, performance evaluations, and succession planning. Focus on the development of the next generation of operational leaders.
• Municipal & Public Relations: Serve as the primary liaison for city and county agencies. Negotiate contract renewals, improve service efficiency, and establish the organization as a valued community resource.
• Strategic Planning: Formulate short-term and long-term action plans in collaboration with regional directors to drive market growth and operational stability.

Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: Associate's Degree required (Bachelor's Degree in Business or Logistics preferred).
• Experience: * Minimum of 2 years of direct P&L and Supervisory responsibility.
• Proven track record in Transportation Leadership or route-based logistics.
• Skills: * Strong background in Budgeting and Financial Analysis.
• Experience managing Union/CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) environments.
• Proficiency in contract compliance and business development.
