Histotechnician

Labcorp seeks a Histotechnician to process tissue specimens and prepare histopathological slides for microscopic examination in San Diego. The role involves specimen preparation, staining procedures, immunohistochemistry testing, and equipment maintenance in a clinical laboratory setting.
Responsibilities
- Process tissue and body fluid specimens and prepare slides for microscopic examination
- Section embedded tissue using microtome and mount sections on microscope slides
- Perform immunohistochemical tests and various staining procedures on tissue sections
- Operate, maintain, and document preventive maintenance for manual and automated instruments
- Report accurate test results and document quality control procedures following laboratory protocols
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Histology or High School diploma with 1+ years histology experience
- Familiarity with routine histology procedures and equipment
- Immunohistochemistry experience
- Ability to embed large and small tissue specimens
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Pass standardized color blindness test
- Experience in high-volume laboratory environments
Compensation: $36.00-$41.00 per hour plus shift differential
