Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 24 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Location Asheville, NC Unit Information This position is within a 20-bed inpatient overflow unit providing mixed levels of care, including medical, surgical, and step-down patients. Shift Details Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM Every other weekend required Staffing Information On day shifts, the unit typically has: 1 Charge Nurse 4 Registered Nurses (RNs) 2 Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) On night shifts, the staffing includes: 1 Charge Nurse 4 Registered Nurses (RNs) 2 Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) Patient Ratios The unit maintains a patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 1:5 to 1:6, depending on the level of care required. Equipment and Technology The unit is equipped with telemetry monitoring for patients, with all necessary patients hardwired to bedside monitors. The electronic medical record (EMR) system used is Cerner. Qualifications Required Skills Telemetry competency Progressive care experience Preferred Skills Recent experience in progressive care settings Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Best Personality Fit The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude, be patient experience-focused, kind, compassionate, and a team player capable of working well with others.
