Job Details:


• Night shift position working 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend rotation required with every other holiday
• Standby call required as needed
• Float required as needed
• Mixed acuity unit caring for ICU, PCU, med/surg, and telemetry patients
• Patient ratios vary based on acuity: 5 patients during days and 6 patients during nights
• 2 years of RN experience in med/surg and PCU required within the last 3 years
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers must have more than 5 years of RN experience
• 48-hour contract may be considered for candidates willing to work additional weekends
• Charge experience preferred
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including cardiac/respiratory, orthopedic, and general surgery conditions
• Experience with ventilators occasionally required
• Barcode scanning compliance must be maintained at 95% or higher
• Bedside Shift Reporting (BSSR), utilization of AIDET, and hourly rounding are required
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA only), Wisconsin RN license
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to assignment start with a passing score of 80% or higher
• Telemetry exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms including ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and asystole
• No incorrect answers permitted on questions regarding 3rd degree heart blocks
• Travelers will have two attempts to pass the telemetry exam; a third attempt requires submission of a cardiac interpretation review course certificate

Facility:


This medical center is a community hospital with 23 beds serving adult and geriatric populations. The facility operates a blended acuity unit supporting ICU, PCU, med/surg, and telemetry patients, with a daily census of approximately 10 patients. Comprehensive interdisciplinary support is available on-site, including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, phlebotomy, interpretation services, and rapid response teams, ensuring a well-rounded care environment for both patients and clinical staff.
