Responsibilities include establishing, promoting, and maintaining excellent rapport with customers, coworkers, sales representatives and others. The Technician supports the “Edge” market segment including retail, financial and municipal customers. Responsibilities Perform service tasks as assigned and per company policies and procedures Work under direct supervision or independently once training is completed Provide on‑site and phone assistance to customers Communicate with technical support on technical or procedural issues Implement field change notices per published guidelines Keep current on safety bulletins, field change notices, and service tips Safety Operate safely in accordance with published safety guidelines Maintain company vehicle in accordance with local laws and company policy Wear appropriate PPE as per company guidelines Adhere to work hours policy – "14 hour rule" Report all work‑related accidents or injuries within 24 hours to the appropriate personnel Administration Complete accurate and timely administrative tasks (e.g., time cards, expense reports, mileage reports, service request task closure, service reports) per company guidelines Maintain individual inventory and perform cycle counts in accordance with company policy Maintain company property (vehicle, credit cards, PPE, test equipment, laptop) per company policies Customer Satisfaction Provide proper and adequate communication to internal and external customers Provide estimated time of arrival where applicable Complete scheduled maintenance documentation and deliver to customer and local office Strive to provide first‑time fix for equipment Maintain customer satisfaction rates per company guidelines Attend customer meetings as required Performance Maximize productivity by combining service opportunities Complete all technical and administrative work efficiently and timely Make technical and commercial decisions under pressure Properly evaluate sites and equipment for appropriate billing status Maintain productive utilization rate per company guidelines Perform inventory cycle counts per company guidelines Adhere to company dress code and safety regulations Meet or exceed on‑site response time requirements Understand and comply with startup/escalation processes and procedures Maintain proper internal communication level Qualifications Preferred: ASEET or AMEET license or progress toward High school or vocational school diploma 2‑4 years of military experience in a related technical field 0‑2 years of relevant industry experience Interpersonal and Administrative Skills Communicate professionally in written and verbal forms Manage time by prioritizing and balancing technical and administrative tasks Collaborate with peers, customers, suppliers, and leadership Complete administrative tasks (report writing, time entry, expense reporting, material debriefing, inventory counting) in a timely fashion Technical Skills Basic site evaluation – environmental temperature, operating conditions Familiarity with electrical/electronic test equipment and fundamentals Follow written technical documentation to perform service tasks Employ elementary fix/repair techniques under directed supervision Complete service tasks and return units to operating conditions under supervision Summarize and report all work‑related tasks in written and verbal form Efficient with personal computer and associated applications (Microsoft Office, Vertiv software) Working Conditions Travel required Flexible schedules (weekends, evenings, holidays) Valid driver’s license Must pass a drug test, pre‑employment background check and motor vehicle records check Physical Requirements The associate must regularly stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects and tools, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, speak, hear and smell. Frequent sitting and balancing required. Required vision includes close, distant, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must lift up to 50 pounds routinely and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
