A law firm in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a skilled Patent Agent and Technical Specialist to enhance their intellectual property practice. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics, with robust skills in patent application preparation and prosecution. The role demands a minimum of 2 years of patent prosecution experience, with a focus on wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, or computer networking. Duties: Prepare and prosecute patent applications, including drafting claims, specifications, and responding to office actions. Conduct technical assessments and evaluations related to wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, and computer networking. Perform prior art searches and provide detailed analyses on patentability, freedom-to-operate, and infringement risks. Collaborate with inventors, clients, and legal teams to formulate and implement effective patent strategies. Review and analyze patent-related documents and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Stay current with developments in patent laws, industry trends, and technological advancements to offer well-informed guidance. Support patent litigation and intellectual property disputes with technical expertise and thorough analysis. Efficiently manage multiple patent projects, meeting deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards. Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of experience in patent prosecution. Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics. Proven experience in patent application preparation and prosecution.
