About This Role The Registered Nurse (RN) in Ambulatory Surgery at Northwell Health is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Highlights Location: Staten Island, NY Facility: Northwell Health Schedule: Full-Time, Evening shift What You’ll Do Assess patients' physiologic health status through interviews and chart reviews. Determine mobility, sensory deficits, and skin condition; adjust care plans as needed. Assess level of pain and manage pain effectively. Develop criteria for measuring patient outcomes and identify potential problems. Formulate and document the plan of care in collaboration with healthcare team members. Implement the plan of care while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Administer medications correctly and educate patients on drug interactions. Participate in patient and family education, providing explanations of conditions and care plans. Collaborate with care team members to plan and carry out treatment regimens. Perform grade I-IV Decubitus Care and other skin care procedures as necessary. Requirements Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Experience: Must be enrolled in an accredited program within 24 months of employment and obtain a BSN within five years. Licenses & Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
