Part-time Cafeteria Attendant Location: 655 Metropolitan Avenue, Hyde Park, MA 02136 Hours: 9:00am-1:00pm (4 hours/day) Position Type: Central Office Starting Date: Immediately Job Description As a cafeteria satellite attendant at New Mission High School, you will assume the responsibilities and duties assigned by the director and report to the Cafeteria Manager. Responsibilities Safe preparation and handling of food Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and facilities Serving food to students and staff Assisting with record keeping Perform tasks efficiently within the allotted time, including operation of a cash register if required Attend training meetings as required Report to work as scheduled, sign the posted time sheet, and remain on the job until dismissal by the manager Notify the manager and the main office at the earliest possible time if unable to work Maintain pleasant working relations with fellow employees by showing consideration for others (patience, respect, self‑control, refrain from offensive language and undesirable traits) Follow all policies of the School Committee and instructions of the Cafeteria Manager regarding safety, sanitation, personnel standards, work techniques, and methods of performing duties Assist with food preparation, portioning, and plating Cleans kitchen equipment and work area, including the floor Set up the serving counter and serve food on line after receiving instructions as to portion size Wash dishes, trays, flatware, pots, pans, utensils, and dining room tables Unpack supplies and assist with stocking dry storage shelves and/or refrigerator shelves Operate equipment properly, maintaining safety standards at all times Perform duties as assigned by the Cafeteria Manager Qualifications – Required High school diploma or GED Current authorization to work in the United States (must have this by the first day of employment) Citizenship, residency or work visa required Qualifications – Preferred ServSafe Food Handlers Certificate Terms City of Boston residency is required.
