Responsibilities Safe preparation and handling of food. Cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities. Serving of food. Assisting with record keeping. Performing efficiently and to the best of one’s ability the duties assigned related to food preparation, serving, cleaning all areas of the kitchen, and other assigned duties, which may include operation of a cash register, within the allotted time. Attending training meetings as required. Reporting to work as scheduled, signing the posted timesheet, and remaining on the job until dismissal by the manager. Notifying the manager and the main office at the earliest possible time when unable to work. Maintaining pleasant working relations with fellow employees by showing consideration for others: patience, respect, self‑control, and refraining from the use of offensive language. Following all policies of the School Committee and the Cafeteria Manager relating to safety measures, sanitation practices, personnel standards, work techniques, and methods of performing duties. Assisting with food preparation, portioning food, cleaning kitchen equipment and work area including the floor, setting up the serving counter, serving food on line, washing dishes, trays, flatware, pots, pans, and utensils, washing dining room tables, unpacking supplies, stocking dry‑storage shelves and/or refrigerator shelves, operating equipment properly, maintaining safety standards, and performing other duties assigned by the Cafeteria Manager. Qualifications – Required High school diploma or GED. Current authorization to work in the United States; candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment. Qualifications – Preferred ServSafe Food Handlers Certificate. Terms City of Boston residency is required.
