Part‑time Cafeteria Attendant Locations: East Boston High School (10:00am‑2:00pm); Mildred Avenue K‑8 School (8:45am‑12:45pm) FTE: 4 hours/day Address: 5 Mildred Ave, Mattapan, MA 02126 Job Code: Part‑time Cafeteria Attendant The cafeteria satellite attendant is a staff member who performs the responsibilities and duties assigned by the director. Responsibilities Assume duties assigned by the cafeteria manager. Safe preparation, handling, portioning and serving of food. Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, work areas and dining‑room tables. Assist with food preparation and maintain the kitchen in accordance with safety protocols. Assist with record keeping and reporting, including timesheets and cash‑register operation. Attend training meetings as required. Report to work as scheduled, sign posted timesheets, and remain on the job until dismissal by the manager. Notify the manager and main office in advance if unable to work. Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, showing patience, respect and self‑control. Follow all policies of the School Committee and the cafeteria manager regarding safety, sanitation, personnel standards, work techniques and methods. Operate equipment properly, maintaining safety standards at all times. Perform other duties as assigned by the cafeteria manager. Qualifications – Required High school diploma or GED. Current authorization to work in the United States; must have such authorization by the first day of employment. Qualifications – Preferred ServSafe Food Handlers Certificate. Terms This position is subject to the City of Boston residency requirement. Salary information is available on the Career Site under Union and Grade/Step listings.
