Human Resources Manager – ManufacturingColumbus, GA | 100% OnsiteWe are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to act as the senior HR leader for a large manufacturing facility in Columbus, Georgia. This key role will collaborate closely with the Plant Manager and site leadership team to drive labor relations, workforce strategy, employee engagement, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness.This position presents a great opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in a hands-on role and wants to make a significant impact on plant culture and performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong union/labor relations expertise, sound business acumen, and the ability to cultivate positive relationships with employees, union representatives, and plant management.Responsibilities• Strategic HR partnership with Plant Manager and site leadership.• Oversight of site HR functions including labor and employee relations, talent acquisition, talent management, organizational development, and performance management.• Cultivation of relationships with union leadership to enhance labor-management collaboration.• Administration and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements, leadership on grievances, investigations, and labor-related issues.• Collaboration with union and plant leaders to address employee concerns and workplace issues proactively.• Support for labor negotiations and development of long-term labor relations strategies.• Management of hourly hiring, staffing, and workforce planning initiatives.• Leadership in workforce and succession planning, talent reviews, and leadership development.• Coaching and development of supervisors and other leaders through training and individual development planning.• Guidance to leaders on employee engagement, conflict resolution, and performance management.• Conducting workplace investigations and ensuring timely resolution of employee concerns.• Utilization of data and trends to identify HR issues and inform business decisions.• Leadership of HR and organizational change efforts for operational enhancement and continuous improvement.• Oversight of employee recognition and engagement programs to foster positive workplace culture.• Compliance with HR policies and employment laws, ensuring consistency in application.• Onsite presence, with flexibility to support multiple shifts in a manufacturing environment.Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.• 5+ years of progressive HR experience.• 3+ years of experience in a unionized environment.• Prior experience in manufacturing HR.• Proficiency in collective bargaining agreements, grievance management, and labor/employee relations.• Demonstrated ability to build strong union-management relationships.• Expertise in workforce planning, leadership development, and organizational capability building.• Strong communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.Preferred• Leadership experience in HR Generalist role.• Background in high-volume manufacturing such as food or consumer products.• Experience with labor negotiations and collective bargaining support.• Implementation of leadership development and succession planning programs.• HRIS knowledge, particularly with Workday.• Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments.• Certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
