General Production Worker

Job Title: General Production Worker - 2nd AND 3rd shift positions!
Job Description
We are seeking dedicated 2nd and 3rd shift General Labor Press Operators for a valve steam and seal manufacturing facility. This role is physically demanding and requires working in a hot environment, as the facility is not climate-controlled, typically being 5-10 degrees hotter in the summer. You will need to lift up to 50 pounds to load and unload rubber materials and parts into and out of machinery. The work is performed at or above waist level, with tables approximately 3.5 feet high, and you may be required to lift up to 5.5 feet high to handle trays.
Responsibilities

• Start up machinery
• Load and lift raw material into mold machines
• Operate 2-4 presses simultaneously once trained
• Shut down and unload machinery
• Perform visual quality checks on finished products
• Perform basic addition and subtraction to document job data on each ticket

Essential Skills

• Physically able to lift 50 pounds up to 5 feet high
• Able to work in environments reaching 110 degrees in peak summer
• Basic addition and subtraction math skills
• Ability to document on job tickets (number of parts ran, scrap, etc.)
• Experience working in non-climate controlled facilities

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Manufacturing or press operator experience is beneficial
• Ability to adapt to various tasks and responsibilities

Work Environment
Our facility is clean, organized, and though smaller in size, it is bustling with activity. There are numerous fans in the aisle ways, although they cannot blow directly on the presses. The work schedule includes 3rd shift hours from Sunday to Saturday AM, 10pm-6am, averaging 60 hours per week with optional 10/12-hour days available. Occasional Sundays may be required if production is behind, offering double time pay. Training will occur on 1st shift for 2 weeks (6am-2pm).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Avilla, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.85 - $21.85/hr.
