With continued investment in our equipment, people, and facility, we’re looking for an experienced CNC Machinist who is equally comfortable setting up Okuma CNC lathes and Tsugami Swiss machines. If you enjoy challenging setup work, short-run production, and taking ownership from blueprint to finished part, we’d like to hear from you. What You’ll Be Doing In this role, you’ll be responsible for complete machine setups and production across both conventional CNC turning and Swiss machining platforms. Your responsibilities will include: Set up and operate Okuma CNC lathes for chuck and bar work Set up and run Tsugami Swiss-type sliding headstock lathes Edit programs at the machine using Okuma, Fanuc, and Yasnac controls Adjust tooling, offsets, feeds, and speeds to optimize production Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and routing documentation Perform first article and in-process inspections Verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment Maintain tooling, fixtures, and machine condition Document work according to ISO 9001 quality procedures Work closely with fellow machinists to maintain quality and production goals Machines, Controls & Inspection Equipment You’ll work with modern precision equipment including: CNC Machines Okuma CNC Lathes Tsugami SX20 Swiss-Type Lathe Eurotech CNC Lathes Haas Milling Centers Kitamura Machining Centers Brother TC32A with pallet changer Controls Okuma OSP Fanuc Yasnac Inspection Equipment Micrometers Calipers Thread Gages Pin Gages Optical Comparator Indicators Inspection Microscope Materials You’ll Machine You’ll have the opportunity to machine a variety of materials including: Stainless Steel Aluminum Brass Tool Steel Nickel Alloys (preferred) Titanium (preferred) PEEK and engineered plastics (preferred) What We’re Looking For Required 5+ years of CNC machining experience Proven setup experience on both Okuma CNC lathes and Tsugami Swiss machines Strong understanding of Swiss machining, including guide bushings, tooling, and bar feeders Ability to edit programs at the machine Blueprint reading and GD&T proficiency Experience performing precision inspections Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Trade school or apprenticeship training Experience machining titanium, nickel alloys, or engineering plastics Experience working in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment Why Machinists Like Working at West Side Industries Family-owned manufacturing company established in 1943 Stable, full-time day shift Clean, organized 10,000 sq. ft. facility Modern Okuma, Tsugami, Haas, Kitamura, and Brother equipment Diverse work with short runs and challenging precision parts ISO 9001 quality-focused environment Opportunity to expand your skills across multiple CNC platforms Company investing in long‑term growth and technology Pay, Benefits & Schedule Pay: $28–$36+ per hour, depending on experience Benefits include: Paid Time Off Benefits package currently being expanded Stable full-time employment Professional work environment Growth opportunities Schedule: Day Shift Overtime available as workload requires West Side Industries is an Equal Opportunity Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr West Side Industries
