Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (12-Hour Nights, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit serving a diverse patient population including GI conditions, blood loss and anemia, infections, renal patients, and post-operative GI surgical patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms for patients in designated telemetry beds
• Perform IV starts and other required clinical skills in a high-acuity environment
• Utilize unit systems including PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR for documentation and communication
• Float to other Medical Surgical units or floors as needed
• Manage a patient assignment with target ratios of 1:6, with the understanding that ratios may reach 1:7 based on staffing needs

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact state license
• Minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience
• Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience (first-time travelers will not be considered for this unit)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• Proficiency with IV starts
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Telemetry experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR documentation systems
• Experience working in high-volume, fast-paced Medical Surgical environments
