Conduct assessments for diverse populations, utilizing standardized measures and observational methods.
Create tailored treatment plans that meet immediate objectives while catering to long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
Administer individualized speech therapy interventions focused on various aspects of communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
Collaborate seamlessly with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, families, and caregivers to formulate holistic care strategies.
Provide educational resources for patients and families to support ongoing progress beyond the clinic.
Occasionally engage in inpatient evaluations and therapy, ensuring a smooth continuum of care throughout the treatment process.
Maintain meticulous documentation in line with state and federal regulations, along with organizational standards.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in the field.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if ASHA certification is pending.
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is highly preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needed within the first month of employment.
Expertise in evidence-based practices for a broad spectrum of patients, with a thorough understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to foster relationships with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Adaptability to modify therapy techniques to accommodate diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
Strong clinical judgment complemented by effective problem-solving capabilities.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation compliance.
