Registered Nurse - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule Shifts are 8 hours with variable day shifts based on the surgical schedule and unit needs. Typical start times include 09:00, 10:00, or 13:30. Job Description The Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is responsible for providing critical care and monitoring for patients recovering from anesthesia. The RN will be tasked with ensuring patient safety and comfort, performing assessments, administering medications, and collaborating with the surgical team to facilitate optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during recovery. Conduct thorough assessments and document patient progress. Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals. Educate patients and families regarding recovery procedures and instructions. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role. Prior charge experience preferred. Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS. Experience with Epic charting system. Must be willing to float between facilities as needed.
