Position Overview

Kelly Services is seeking a  Manufacturing Associate – Laminator (Composite Technician I)to join an aerospace manufacturing team in  Sumner, WA . This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals interested in hands-on manufacturing and looking to build specialized skills in composite production.

The Laminator is responsible for performing  composite layup and lamination processes according to manufacturing plans, engineering drawings, and Standard Work Instructions (SWI). The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and motivated to learn in a structured production environment.

No prior manufacturing experience is required. Training will be provided to qualified candidates.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay Rate: $24.47 per hour
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Shift: 2nd Shift
• Hours: 3:00 PM–1:30 AM
• Employment: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Perform composite material layup on mandrels according to manufacturing plans, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Wrap molds with composite materials in preparation for curing and subsequent production processes.
• Verify manufacturing documentation for accuracy and report any discrepancies.
• Select and use the correct materials according to production requirements.
• Verify part identification tags and complete all required production documentation.
• Follow established production schedules, takt times, and work instructions.
• Communicate quality concerns, schedule issues, and material or documentation discrepancies to supervisors.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
• Participate in required training and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and production team members to meet daily production goals.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Entry-level position;  no prior manufacturing experience required .
• Ability to understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Willingness and ability to learn composite manufacturing and lamination processes.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to workplace safety and established procedures.

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on manufacturing position that requires employees to remain active throughout the workday. The role may require:

• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Bending, reaching, and working in various positions.
• Lifting and moving materials as required by the position.
• Repetitive use of hands and arms during composite manufacturing processes.
• Working in a manufacturing environment while following required PPE and safety procedures.

Work Environment

This position is located within a  structured aerospace manufacturing facility where safety, precision, quality, and productivity are top priorities.
