Role Description What You'll Do The Business Development Manager, Freight Brokerage is responsible for recruiting, training, and managing Freight Brokerage Account Executives (AEs), monitoring AE sales activity, and providing ongoing feedback and performance reporting. They will also participate in the development of long-term strategic sales goals, build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions. What You Need to Land This Awesome Job Education: Bachelor's Degree Experience: 3+ years of sales experience in the freight brokerage industry License or Certification: Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) preferred Travel Requirements: Occasionally Minimum Physical Requirements: N/A Minimum Behavior Requirements: You must Be Humble, Stay Hungry and Live Smart A Day in the Life (But Not Limited To) Coach direct reports to meet performance and behavioral expectations Schedule and maintain training programs, develop and modify training sessions as needed, deliver training sessions, and document training records Facilitate training sessions covering systems, industry information, and sales skills Assess the effectiveness of training and offer alternative solutions to ensure company objectives are met Develop and maintain training manuals and tools to support training programs Maintain an in-depth knowledge of industry Analyze and determine training needs for the staff Train AEs on RLS sales call requirements Work with Operations Account Managers on sales challenges with existing customers on enhancing products and services Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the team Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets Attain predetermined performance metrics as outlined by their manager All other duties as assigned by supervisor, but remember, we work as a team to get the job done What You Can Expect From Us (But Not Limited To) This is an onsite position A challenging, fast-paced environment where you can make a difference and grow personally and professionally Office setting, business casual dress code Compensation and Benefits: Weekly Pay Life Insurance 401(k) with Company Match Tuition Reimbursement Program Employee Assistance Program PTO and Volunteer PTO Holidays Floating Birthday Holiday Team Member Recognition Awards On-site Gym Reports To and Direct Reports This position reports to the VP of Operations, Transportation and has 8 to 10 direct reports.
