# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (Progressive Care/Medical-Surgical) – North Carolina

Start Date: July 23, 2026

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 6 Saturday or Sunday shifts per 6-week period. Day shift (1:3–4 ratio for step down, 1:4–6 for med-surg) or Night shift available. Float to other med-surg and progressive care units as needed.

Highlights:

• 39-bed unit combining 23 step-down and 16 medical-surgical beds
• Diverse case mix including trach care, chest tubes, stable ventilated patients, cardiac drips, and wound dressing changes
• Equipment includes patient lifts, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and tracheostomy supplies
• EMR system: Cerner
• Collaborative team environment with dedicated charge nurse coverage each shift and PCT support
• Contract opportunity with potential for extension

Requirements:

• Active RN license in North Carolina (or compact state license)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Tracheostomy care experience required
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• Previous experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Strong clinical competence and flexibility essential
