Vice President of Operations

The Vice President of Operations will achieve the business objectives and goals of the Warehousing and Custom Packaging Departments. They will support the overall success of the company in the short-term and aid in positioning the company for long-term growth. They will provide customers with Best in Class Service and support their business objectives and goals.

The position competency includes effectively leading and motivating a department of 200+ employees located in multiple geographical areas, managing multiple projects with durations of up to 12 months, prioritizing and executing objectives in a systematic approach, and having extensive knowledge of the Warehousing and Distribution industry.

Position expectations include:

• Safety: Meet goals as determined by the Health and Safety Steering Committee, develop plans to meet stated goals, ensure safety metrics are updated and communicated weekly, evaluate and implement new processes to reduce safety events, and have experience or willingness to receive training in Food Safety.
• Financial and Profitability: Create and maintain a plan to achieve department financial goals, maintain and update a 12-month rolling forecast of expenses, adhere to the expense authorization document, manage all expenses within respective departments, and continuously evaluate ways to improve accuracy and efficiencies.
• Quality and Tracking: Develop positive relationships with customers, ensure operational metrics are updated, monitored, and communicated, provide a weekly performance report, respond to customer requests and needs, complete CARs, ensure accurate paperwork and data entry, and track necessary information sent out of the department.
• Management: Set clear goals and expectations for direct reports, mentor, support, and coach director reports, properly document performance issues, and create a PIP when appropriate.
• Project Management: Create project outlines with goals, required steps, resources, risk analysis, and timeline, and communicate any project not on course to meet goals, timelines, or budget needs to the CEO.
