Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful impact supporting students with special needs in a vibrant school environment near Winder, GA. This contract opportunity runs through the 2026-2027 school year, serving elementary and middle school students with autism in self-contained and inclusive settings.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Georgia Special Education (SPED) License with proper endorsements
- Adaptive SPED Certification (for elementary classroom)
- SPED General Curriculum Certification (for middle school classroom)
- Previous experience working in autism support, either in a self-contained setting or as an inclusion/resource teacher
- Strong collaboration, communication, and classroom management skills
- Ability to adapt lessons and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
Responsibilities:
- Work onsite in a self-contained, adaptive special education classroom at the elementary level, teaching students with significant physical and academic needs
- Serve as an inclusion and small group resource teacher at the middle school, providing targeted support for students with Level 1 autism within general education settings
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for assigned students, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to foster student success
- Utilize evidence-based practices and adaptive materials to promote student engagement and achievement
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and data collection
