Buyer/Planner

LHH is partnering with a growing distribution company in Elgin, IL to hire a Buyer/Planner. This position will be responsible for purchasing, inventory management, and demand planning activities to ensure product availability while maintaining optimal inventory levels. The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing, forecasting, and inventory control within a distribution or supply chain environment. Job Responsibilities Purchasing & Inventory Management: Manage purchasing and replenishment activities to support customer demand. Maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing stock shortages and excess inventory. Partner with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and product availability. Monitor inventory trends and resolve purchasing and supply chain issues. Planning & Forecasting: Develop and maintain demand forecasts based on historical trends and business needs. Analyze inventory performance and forecast accuracy. Collaborate with operations and sales teams to support inventory planning initiatives. Reporting & Analysis: Utilize Excel to analyze purchasing, inventory, and forecasting data. Prepare reports and recommendations to support supply chain decisions. Monitor key metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of experience in a Buyer, Planner, Purchasing, or Supply Chain role. Purchasing and procurement experience. Planning and forecasting experience. Inventory management experience. Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Distribution industry experience. Experience working with high SKU counts (5,000+ SKUs). Packaging industry experience. Strong tenure and career progression. Experience supporting multiple distribution locations.
