CHEF (FULL TIME)

Job Summary Full‑time Chef at George Mason University, 4353 Chesapeake River Lane, Fairfax, VA 22030. The position involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards, and overseeing meal production. Responsibilities Supervise, coordinate, and participate in activities of cooks and kitchen associates. Ensure compliance with food handling, sanitation, and customer service standards. Interview, schedule, payroll, train, counsel, and conduct reviews of hourly kitchen staff. Prepare high‑quality food items according to standardized recipes and maintain proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures. Track food usage, waste, and consumption to requisition or purchase product. Receive and inspect product and supplies for quality and quantity to manage inventory. Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils; clean workstations thoroughly. Assist in recipe and menu development. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Prior culinary supervision experience is preferred. Compensation $23.00–$27.00 per hour.
