General Superintendent

Summary We are representing a well-established General Contractor seeking an experienced Superintendent with a proven track record on Division of State Architect (DSA) and Public Works projects throughout the Greater Los Angeles and Orange County markets. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on field leader who understands the inspection‑heavy, documentation‑driven nature of DSA work, commands the respect of subcontractors and inspection teams, and knows how to keep a public sector jobsite moving in full compliance and on schedule. Projects typically include K–12 school new construction and modernization, community college facilities, municipal buildings, and other DSA‑regulated or publicly bid construction. Key Responsibilities Field Leadership & Execution Manage all daily field operations from mobilization through final completion Develop and maintain project schedules including 3‑week look‑aheads and milestone tracking Coordinate and sequence subcontractor trades to maintain workflow and avoid delays Enforce plans, specifications, and DSA‑approved documents in the field DSA Compliance & Inspection Coordination Serve as the primary field contact for the Inspector of Record (IOR) and DSA Field Engineers Schedule and coordinate all DSA inspections in alignment with construction sequencing Maintain daily field reports, inspection logs, and compliance documentation Manage non‑conformance items and coordinate corrective actions promptly Subcontractor & Safety Management Hold trade partners accountable to schedule, scope, quality, and safety standards Lead weekly subcontractor coordination meetings and daily tailgate safety talks Enforce Cal/OSHA compliance and project‑specific safety plans at all times Closeout & Turnover Drive punch list completion and coordinate final inspections with IOR and agency representatives Support DSA Form 6 closeout milestones and field documentation requirements Ensure timely and complete facility turnover including all agency walk‑throughs and sign‑offs Project Experience Required DSA‑Regulated K–12 School New Construction & Modernization Community College / Higher Education Facilities Municipal Buildings & Public Infrastructure Publicly Bid Projects with Prevailing Wage & DIR Compliance Projects ranging from $10M – $80M+ Qualifications 8+ years of Superintendent experience focused on DSA and Public Works Strong knowledge of DSA inspection protocols, IOR coordination, and Form 6 closeout Familiarity with prevailing wage, DIR compliance, and public contracting requirements Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite OSHA 30 certified required; First Aid/CPR preferred Bachelor's degree in Construction Management preferred; equivalent field experience strongly considered Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary commensurate with experience Performance‑based bonus opportunities Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with employer match Company vehicle or vehicle allowance with gas card Paid holidays and PTOLong‑term growth within an active and expanding public sector builder #J-18808-Ljbffr
