Production Associate (Cylinder Handler)

R10095251 Production Associate (Cylinder Handler) (Open) Location: Oakwood Village, OH - Filling industrial Responsibilities Loads and unloads gas cylinders onto and off route trucks and trailers using proper carts only. Sorts empty cylinders by type. Rolls cylinders and operates a forklift truck for movement on pallets. Identifies hazards of various gases, reads and interprets cylinder labels, and applies color‑coding for accurate labeling. Handles high‑pressure, medical and liquid cylinders; prepares cryogenic vessels for filling, attaches manifolds, and evacuates cylinders to eliminate contaminants. Performs basic cylinder maintenance, including painting, labeling and cleaning of the work area. Inspects cylinders before filling, following government, Airgas and distributor procedures; conducts safety tests such as odor checks, cap and valve inspections. Fills cylinders by pressure and weight per regulations and standards. Verifies cylinder quantities, styles and product; assists with inventory as needed. Manages paperwork to DOT, FDA, OSHA and Airgas standards; completes quality control sheets as required. Complies with all safety standards for handling hazardous materials and gases. Maintains a neat, clean and orderly plant appearance. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Minimum of one year of manufacturing or filling/loading experience (preferred). Strong background in gas, welding, safety supply or chemical industry (preferred). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail. Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; computation of rates, ratios and percentages. Ability to safely operate a forklift. Physical ability to move, lift up to 60 pounds regularly, use a hand‑tool, and stand/bend/reach for extended periods. Possesses good vision (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth) and hearing for detecting leaking gas. Adaptable to indoor/outdoor environments and temperatures ranging from –10°F to over 100°F. Work environment may include loud noise, odors, mechanical parts and risk of electric shock. Minimal travel required.
