Guidewire PolicyCenter - Senior Business Analyst

Role Description

UFG is currently hiring for Guidewire PolicyCenter, Sr. Business Analyst to collaborate with their team members to define business needs, conduct research, gather and document requirements, facilitate discussions, and lead continuous improvement of business processes and team outcomes. The Sr. Business Analyst leverages experience to guide, mentor, and advise team members and stakeholders. Our business analysts work in a collaborative and evolving environment that values adaptability, partnerships, and effective communication.

• Guide, mentor, and review work of other analysts on best practices for business analysis and collaboration.
• Gather and document business needs through:
  • Eliciting business needs using interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, and task and workflow analysis.
  • Raising awareness of cross-team/functional dependencies and impacts.
  • Capturing what the current system is providing to the business.
  • Defining business needs within complex or ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Gaining understanding of the initial scope of work.
  • Summarizing the information gathered for team alignment.
• Lead research and analysis efforts to define and clarify business needs.
• Evaluate change requests to project scope based on perceived benefits and impact on project timelines.
• Recommend changes that add value and support project goals.
• Communicate scope of work changes to team members and stakeholders.
• Analyze business needs by:
  • Helping the business unit understand system capabilities.
  • Evaluating information from multiple sources and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Driving alignment across stakeholders and resolving conflicting business needs.
  • Distinguishing user requests from underlying needs.
  • Translating information between technical and non-technical formats.
  • Facilitating collaboration to establish technical vision and analyze tradeoffs.
• Oversee and guide resolution of escalated issues.
• Work with internal & external users for non-code change matters.
• Maintain records of issues and solutions.
• Provide assistance with training documentation as needed.
• Work with development teams to test and verify defect resolution.
• Perform duties typically associated with other job types as part of an Agile team.
• Provide or facilitate system maintenance within established standards.
• Lead implementation of new business rules and regulatory requirements.
• Drive ongoing development and lead resolution of requirement ambiguities.
• Direct timely implementation of changes in alignment with project timelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant experience including:
  • Communication to a wide range of audiences.
  • Successful problem solving.

Pay Transparency Statement

UFG Insurance is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $113,000 annually, which represents the typical range for new hires in this role. Individual pay within this range will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, internal equity, geography and market data.
