Center for Student Success - Office Asst. 26/27

Covenant College Students

This position is for the full academic year, open only to enrolled upperclassmen. Freshmen are not eligible to apply for this position.

Expected hours of work per week : 10-15

Work Location & Hours: Center for Student Success: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and Study Hall: Monday-Thursday 6:00-9:00

Qualifications for Position:

Clear communication skills with supervisors, students, co-workers, and professors.
Administrative skills and organization.
Base knowledge of Google Drive, Sheets, Forms, Calendar, and Gmail.
Personable disposition to greet students and staff.
Ability to take initiative in asking questions and completing necessary tasks.
Time management to be able to show up to shifts on time.
Discretion to maintain the privacy of student accommodations and meetings.

Expected Duties and Responsibilities:

Help manage the testing center and facilitate testing accommodations by promptly processing emails and scheduling tests with students and professors.
Monitor one or two evening study hall shifts each week (minimum of 1.5 hours per week).
Front desk responsibilities: greet visitors, schedule appointments, proctor tests, and field incoming calls and emails.
Explain services available to students who visit the Center for Student Success.
Print tests and file them under the day when they are to be taken.
Office miscellaneous tasks, including making coffee, replenishing snacks, washing mugs at the end of each shift, and disinfecting surfaces.
Keep the calendars related to our office on Google Calendar.
Use Google Sheets, Google Drive, Google Forms, and proprietary software.
Promote an environment where students can study and participate in collaborative work.
Return tests to professors in a timely manner either by scanning, hand delivery, or mailbox.
Communicate changes through GroupMe, email, and face-to-face interaction with co-workers and superiors.

Technology... Navigating different programs and software used by CSS to maintain up-to-date information, schedule meetings, and communicate on various platforms.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or to the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly
