Then look no further than GAF, a $3billion company and the largest roofing manufacturer in North America. We are searching for an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for the Baltimore plant. The successful candidate must have at least 3 years of maintenance experience, including welding and cutting, pneumatics and mechanical drive components related to conveyor systems used in high‑speed production line environments. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills in these areas are also required. A strong electrical background is a plus.

Essential Duties

• Basic understanding of plant electrical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, conveyors, belts and splices, bearings, and mechanical drives.
• Welding and cutting as required using oxygen‑acetylene torches and electric arc welding equipment.
• Perform maintenance using hand tools and power tools such as impact wrenches, power saws, drills, sledge hammers, and pry bars.
• Replace electric motors, switches, and wires as required.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and operate machine equipment.
• Perform carpentry and plumbing work when needed.
• Re‑knife cutting cylinders as required.
• Operate lift truck to unload trucks and perform maintenance work.
• Operate crane and practice safe rigging.
• Perform preventative maintenance work and document work done.
• Troubleshoot equipment to restore service.
• Maintain housekeeping of tools and work area.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a high‑speed production line environment.

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Preferred: Technical school degree, vocational diploma, or completed apprenticeship in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant trade certifications: Welding Certification, Crane/Rigging Certification, Forklift Operator License, or Journeyman Electrical license.

Base Hourly Rate: $39.62. Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Individual compensation offers are determined based on geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and qualifications.
