SRE Virtual Desktop Engineer

Salary: $120,000 - 175,000 per year Requirements:

• Extensive experience with Citrix technologies, including Citrix Cloud, CVAD, and Gateway
• Strong background in Windows Server, Windows 11 multi-session, Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, certificates, and VDI profile management
• Practical experience with CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and GitLab CI
• Deep understanding of SRE principles to enhance reliability, availability, scalability, and performance
• Proven capability with infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform, ARM/Bicep, Ansible, DSC, and PowerShell
• Experience with advanced monitoring, alerting, and telemetry tools such as Citrix Director/Analytics, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Splunk, and Observe
• Experience working in ITIL-aligned enterprise environments
• Experience with Microsoft Azure virtual desktop technologies, including Azure Virtual Desktop, identity and access management, and cloud-based infrastructure services
• Ability to be assessed on risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technology skills

• Build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems using hardware, software, networks, and cloud platforms
• Ensure infrastructure and systems remain reliable, scalable, secure, available, and high performing
• Apply software engineering practices, automation, and strong incident response methods to improve operational resilience
• Develop and deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions that meet business needs and improve performance, availability, and usability
• Identify suitable technologies and approaches to satisfy business, optimisation, and resourcing requirements
• Monitor infrastructure and system performance to detect, address, and resolve issues, vulnerabilities, and outages
• Use data to reduce mean time to resolution
• Create and implement automated tasks and processes to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort
• Put secure configuration measures in place to protect hardware, software, and data from cyber threats and unauthorised access
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineers to define infrastructure requirements and ensure smooth integration with business objectives
• Stay current with industry trends and contribute to technology communities
• Advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development, and support operational effectiveness
• Lead collaborative assignments or a team handling complex work, depending on the role structure
• Coach employees, set objectives, review performance, and help determine reward outcomes where leadership responsibilities apply
• Consult on complex issues and support resolution of escalated matters
• Identify ways to reduce risk and develop new procedures to support governance and control objectives
• Own risk management and strengthening of controls related to the work
• Engage in complex data analysis from multiple sources to solve problems creatively and effectively
