Budget Analyst

Job Title

The following duties are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.

The duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Prepares documents needed to process budget estimates, requests for supplemental appropriations, allotments from the Department.
• Works with Program managers to develop operating budgets, financial report analysis, and budget and program analyses.
• Maintains multi-year data to prepare budget schedules, Agency and Departmental estimates, the President's budget, and Congressional explanatory notes.
• Provides/Reviews end-of-year financial forecasts to determine current and year-end financial position. Recommends appropriate management actions in view of the results.
• Maintains, coordinates, and updates reports submitted to the Budget Office responding to Agency requests, e.g., Budget Data Requests (BDR), Questions for the Record (QFR), Cross-Cuts, etc.
• Develops and maintains a system to monitor appropriated funding allocations for grant, cooperative, and reimbursable activities.
• Researches, collects and evaluates data for Program and Agency compliance reviews, and recommends courses of action.
